My priorities for the Highlands
I start by listening. From Carrbridge to Carbost, Dingwall to Duror, people have told me their priorities. As a community campaigner, my focus is clear: turning those local priorities into action and results for our area.
NHS Care
Fighting for local hospitals, faster access, and fair funding—so Highland patients get care close to home.
Strong Schools
Backing pupils, parents and teachers to secure proper investment, better buildings, and support to improve attainment.
Living Costs
Action to cut energy bills, ease household pressures, and make sure Highlands families get a fair deal.
Highland Infrastructure
A focus on fixing roads, ferries and transport links—ending neglect and investing properly in our rural communities.
A Highland voice rooted in our communities
I’ve lived and worked in the West Highlands for more than twenty years, raising my family here, running a local business, serving as a Highland councillor and working with community organisations.
Before becoming an MSP, I spent eighteen years running Kinlochleven Post Office. That experience, alongside my work as a councillor, taught me just how frustrating it can be when decisions affecting our communities are made by people who don’t understand the realities of Highland life.
Now, as your MSP, I’m bringing that experience to Holyrood. I’ll continue asking awkward questions, challenging decisions and standing up for the people I’m proud to represent.
What motivates me is giving our communities a strong voice—campaigning for local residents and pushing back against decisions imposed from Inverness or Edinburgh that ignore Highland realities.
